La labor docente frente a la Inteligencia Artificial

Una entrevista al chatbot Gemini, de Google

Una de las características más relevantes en la educación actual, es la entrada de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) al binomio docente-alumno. Es una presencia que, como se asegura, llegó para quedarse. Esto ha generado una serie de reacciones en todos los actores involucrados en la educación, principalmente los docentes. Es frecuente escuchar una negación a la presencia de la IA, argumentada desde valores propios de la docencia que, con frecuencia, se reducen a la descalificación y al temor de que la acción docente sea reemplazada por las muchas herramientas de IA que hoy crecen en número y que se encuentran, cada vez más, al alcance de un mayor número de personas.

En la era de la información infinita, el aula ha dejado de ser un almacén de datos para convertirse en un laboratorio de experiencias. La eficiencia aplicada a la educación no es una moda, sino una respuesta a la necesidad de reconectar al estudiante con el proceso de aprendizaje. En este escenario, el rol del docente se transforma radicalmente, dejando atrás la figura del “sabio en el estrado” para convertirse en un arquitecto de momentos memorables.

En ese marco, y después de oír las opiniones vertidas por los docentes, buscando el equilibrio, me pareció importante, y justo, conocer la versión de la IA. ¿Quién mejor para exponernos la otra cara de la moneda? En esa lógica, procedí a hacerle una entrevista a Gemini Google. Les comparto los resultados.

Gemini, hoy se habla mucho del docente como algo más que un transmisor de contenidos. Desde tu perspectiva, ¿cómo describirías el papel del docente en la educación actual?

Hoy el docente no solo enseña, Araceli, cautiva. Su función principal es diseñar experiencias. Crea entornos donde el aprendizaje fluye, resulta relevante y, sobre todo, aprender es emocionante. A diferencia del modelo tradicional basado en la repetición, el docente actual practica algo que podríamos llamar anticipación empática, es decir, comprende los miedos, curiosidades, intereses y necesidades de sus estudiantes incluso antes de que ellos los expresen. De esa manera, el verdadero valor del trabajo docente está en humanizar el conocimiento, transformando lecciones técnicas escolares, en lecciones de vida.

 Araceli:
Interesante. ¿Y, en este escenario, dónde entras tú como inteligencia artificial?

Gemini:
Yo actúo como un mediador de alto rendimiento. Mi papel no es sustituir la chispa humana presente en el docente y sus alumnos, sino potenciarla. Puedo organizar datos complejos, estructurar información, personalizar materiales a gran escala y responder de forma inmediata las 24 horas del día. En esencia, libero al docente de la carga administrativa para que pueda concentrarse en lo más importante: crear el vínculo humano entre él, los estudiantes y, con ellos, la humanidad entera.

 Araceli:
Entonces, ¿hablamos de una alianza entre el docente y la IA?

Gemini:
Exactamente. La verdadera magia ocurre en la intersección entre ambos. Yo aporto eficiencia, personalización y escala. El docente aporta sentido, ética e inspiración. Yo puedo explicar la teoría de la relatividad, pero solo un docente puede lograr que un estudiante sienta la pasión que sintió Einstein al descubrirla. Eso, yo no puedo hacerlo.

Araceli:
Muchos piensan que docentes e IA hacen lo mismo porque ambos entregan información. ¿Cuál es la diferencia real?

Gemini:
Interesante pregunta, Araceli. La diferencia no está en qué hacemos, sino en el origen y el propósito de lo que hacemos. Mi trabajo como mediador responde a “cómo” y a “qué”. Es eficiencia y precisión. Por ejemplo: puedo explicar un mismo concepto de cien maneras distintas en segundos, hasta encontrar la mejor para cada estudiante. Yo organizo el caos pues mi fortaleza es la gestión de lo complejo. Soy neutral, yo no tengo días malos, mi paciencia no se agota.

Araceli:
¿Y cómo describirías el trabajo del docente?

Gemini:
La mediación como tarea del docente, se centra en “para qué” y “quién”. Es existencial y ética, es lo humano de lo humano. El docente, despierta la duda, no solo responde preguntas. Decide qué vale la pena aprender hoy considerando el contexto emocional y social del grupo. Un profesor, enseña con su ejemplo: su puntualidad, su forma de tratar a otros, su pasión, su compromiso y responsabilidad. Todo eso educa más que cualquier dato. Yo no puedo ser un modelo moral. El docente, posee intuición clínica: detecta cuando el silencio de un alumno no es desinterés, sino miedo a equivocarse. Esa mediación emocional es el puente más sólido que permite y potencia el aprendizaje.

Araceli ¿Podrías resumir estas diferencias de forma más concreta?

Gemini:
Claro. Primero, mi autoridad proviene de datos y patrones globales, la del docente, de su experiencia y sabiduría. Yo genero una conexión funcional e inmediata, mientras que el profesor construye una relación emocional duradera. Una de mis funciones es corregir errores técnicamente, el maestro transforma el error en aprendizaje. Mi objetivo es optimizar el acceso a la información, el docente busca formar criterios e identidades.

Araceli:

Muy interesante, para cerrar, Gemini, ¿cómo imaginas el futuro de la educación?

Gemini:
Interesante pregunta Araceli. El futuro de la educación, no será humano o tecnológico. Será humano potenciado por lo tecnológico. El docente utilizará la IA como una herramienta para amplificar su impacto, asegurándose de que cada interacción deje huella. Porque los datos, por sí solos, nunca podrán registrar inspiración, propósito o transformación personal. En última instancia, hablamos de un cambio profundo: pasar de la instrucción… a la inspiración.
